Zakynthos (Greek: Ζάκυνθος, also known as
Zacinto and Zante) is one of Greek Ionian islands. It has mild Mediterranean
climate and mostly mountainous terrain, but some fertile plains exist. Inhabited
from the Neolithic age, the island spent centuries as a subject of the Republic
of Venice, which protected it from Ottoman dominance. It was also occupied by
France, Russia, Turkey, and Britain to become in 1864 finally Greek. Today
Zakynthos has a thriving tourism industry.

called Panagiotis. Back in 1983 she was abandoned by her crew,
